Material Highlight Of The Week: ECONYL®

At FLÕWY, we make all our activewear pieces from ECONYL® materials. Keep on reading to find out more about  ECONYL® and what makes it an exceptional and sustainable choice.

1) About ECONYL®

ECONYL® regenerated polyamide is 100% made from waste that would otherwise pollute the Earth, such as fishing nets and carpet scraps from oceans and lands, using a closed-loop process that transforms these waste materials into high performance, premium-quality textile. By collecting and using these waste materials, we can not only relieve our oceans from the burden of pollution but can also make a more sustainable choice, as ECONYL® is infinitely recyclable.

2) How is ECONYL® made?

4-step infographic: How the material is made

1. Rescue:

Different waste materials such as fishing nets and fabric scraps are rescued from the oceans and lands.

2. Regenerate:

Through a radical regeneration and purification process, the polyamide waste is recycled back to its original purity.

3. Remake:

The polyamide is processed into yarn, which we then turn into beautiful FLÕWY pieces.

4. Reimagine:

Thanks to its unique properties, the yarn can be recycled infinitely, without ever losing its quality.

3) The impact FLÕWY makes with ECONYL®

As well as being a solution on waste, ECONYL® regenerated polyamide is also better when it comes to climate change. It reduces the global warming impact of polyamide by up to 90% compared with the material from oil.
